Abstract
Introdução: A Síndrome da Apneia-Hipopneia Obstrutiva do Sono (SAHOS) afeta milhões de pessoas e o tratamento com Pressão Positiva Contínua nas Vias Aéreas Superiores (CPAP) pode trazer benefícios ao paciente. Objetivo: Avaliar a qualidade de vida dos pacientes com SAHOS aderentes ao CPAP. Métodos: Estudo observacional transversal realizado com 50 pacientes com SAHOS, no Hospital CEMA, no período de dezembro de 2012 a agosto de 2013. Foram utilizados 3 questionários: o sociodemográfico/clínico, Escala de Sonolência de Epworth (ESE) e o Calgary Sleep Apnea Quality of Life Index (SAQLI). A análise estatística foi pelo teste Wilcoxon, Qui-Quadrado e Exato de Fisher com p ≤ 0,05. Resultados: A média total de todos os domínios mais prevalente foi uma boa melhora com 46,5%. Da amostra total 52% aderiram ao tratamento com CPAP. Conclusão: A melhora da qualidade de vida ocorreu em todos os domínios do SAQLI e ESE.Descritores: Síndromes da apneia do sono, Pressão positiva contínua nas vias aéreas, Qualidade de vida
