SÍNDROME DO DESFILADEIRO TORÁCICO: UMA REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA

Abstract
Este estudo tem como objetivo identificar e analisar o conhecimento científico relacionado à síndrome do desfiladeiro torácico no cenário nacional e internacional. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa de literatura realizada no mês de março de 2018.Na estratégia de busca, utilizaram-se seis recursos informacionais, sendo três bases de dados eletrônicas, o portal PubMed, uma biblioteca digital e um buscador acadêmico. Buscou-se complementar o levantamento com busca manual nas citações dos estudos primários identificados.Empregaram-se os descritores/palavras-chave: “Síndrome do desfiladeiro torácico”, “Síndrome do desfiladeiro”, “Costela cervical” e “Plexo braquial”, nos idiomas português e inglês. Foram incluídos 26 estudos teórico-metodológicos, quantitativos ou qualitativos e estudos de casos que analisavam ou propunham uma teoria sobre a etiologia e fisiopatologia da síndrome do desfiladeiro torácico, os métodos de diagnóstico ou tipos de tratamento. Os artigos foram publicados a partir de 1998, sendo a maioria (15 – 57,7%) publicados a partir de 2011, no idioma inglês (15 – 57,7%). De acordo com a análise dos artigos selecionados, foi possível discorrer sobre a fisiopatologia, diagnóstico e tratamento da síndrome do desfiladeiro torácico. Diante da divergência encontrada na literatura sobre o tema em questão, sugere-se que as organizações nacionais e internacionais que produzem conhecimentos e diretrizes em cuidado à saúde baseado em evidências construam um guia de recomendações quanto à etiologia e fisiopatologia, bem como para o diagnóstico e tratamento da síndrome do desfiladeiro torácico. Tal iniciativa poderia trazer maior consistência à prática clínica para sua mais ampla e segura aplicação no cuidado em saúde, e particularmente na Medicina.
