GLOBE Phase 4: Improving Culture Dimension Measures and Measuring Trust Across Cultures
Bibliographic record
Abstract
The GLOBE project (Global Leadership and Organizational Behavior Effectiveness) is a continuing multi-phase, multi-method, and multi-country research program examining interrelationships between societal culture and leadership processes. This project is entering its fourth phase and now consists of a global team of over 250 scholars from over 80 countries. GLOBE 2020 is the current project phase that has two main objectives: 1) Develop and test a theoretical framework examining the dynamics of change in its nine dimensions of culture in the original 62 societies in its first phase in the early 1990’s; 2) Develop and test a theoretical framework examining relationships between antecedents of interpersonal trust and national culture. In this panel symposium, panelists will focus on the psychometric processes involved in designing instruments for the current study. They will explain the steps they have taken in designing and conducting a pilot study in six countries to: improve the reliability and validity of GLOBE’s culture dimension instrument; develop an additional dimension (religiosity); and design measures of interpersonal trust within and across cultures. Panelists will explain the challenges involved in designing cross-cultural instruments and will engage the audience in a wide-ranging discussion about how to improve cross-cultural instrument design.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one teacher head, not a consensus.
