En terminos generales, los calostros son la secrecion mamaria obtenida durante los primeros dias una vez una hembra mamifera da a luz. Aunque por muchos anos se considero un fluido insignificante con propiedades similares a la leche convencional, diferentes estudios han estado enfocados en analizar las propiedades y caracteristicas de estos, hallando beneficios unicos con aplicacion en salud, deportes y cosmetologia. Teniendo en cuenta el rol del sector de lacteos en Colombia, el estancamiento actual del sector y las altas tasas de produccion de leche de origen bovino, esta investigacion estuvo dirigida en identificar destinos potenciales para la exportacion de calostros de origen bovino colombiano. Las practicas estudiadas obedecen a la comercializacion de estos fluidos sin ningun proceso de manufactura, tan solo conservacion. Para dar cumplimiento a los objetivos propuestos, inicialmente se estudiaron las generalidades de los calostros y sus propiedades. Una vez se analizo el comportamiento de las actividades de importacion y exportacion en algunos paises, se identificaron algunas generalidades de la normatividad de importacion para los destinos que fueron considerados potenciales. Finalmente, paises como China, Canada, Australia y Brasil son candidatos para los calostros colombianos, que hoy en dia estan siendo en su mayoria desechados.
