D’importantes difficultés sont toujours associées à la sélection des valeurs de cohésion et d’angle de friction employées pour les analyses de stabilité des barrages, notamment du fait des incertitudes vis-à-vis de l‘influence de la rugosité le long des interfaces barrage-fondation. Ce travail propose de nouvelles approches pour évaluer la résistance au cisaillement et la cohésion apparente d’interfaces barrage-fondation non-liées en modélisant à différentes échelles la rugosité des surfaces de fondation rocheuses. Une procédure originale est d’abord développée pour modéliser la rugosité de contacts roc-béton au moyen d’éléments-finis non-linéaires. Celle-ci est ensuite appliquée à des échantillons de contacts roc-béton forés de barrages existants et cisaillés expérimentalement. Les résultats numériques validés expérimentalement sont analysés pour investiguer les effets de la rugosité et de l’emboitement afin de proposer un critère de résistance au cisaillement pratique d’utilisation. Des relevés de LiDAR de grandes surfaces de fondation proches de barrages existants sont aussi traités pour obtenir des géométries rugueuses d’interfaces barrage-fondation réalistes. Ces profils sont alors implémentés au sein de modèles d’Éléments Finis grâce à la méthode proposée pour conduire des analyses de stabilité de barrage-poids. Au final, les résultats confirment la contribution majeure des propriétés de rugosité et d’emboitement au comportement en cisaillement des interfaces barrage-fondation, et sont utilisés pour proposer des valeurs de cohésion apparente. Ce projet est le résultat d’une collaboration de longue date entre les mondes de l’académique (Polytechnique Montréal) et de l’industrie en ingénierie des barrages (Hydro-Québec).
