Reflected light microscopy and Rockeval pyrolysis of Cambrian Mount Cap Formation, Dodo Canyon, Northwest Territories
Bibliographic record
Abstract
This cd contains reflected and fluorescent light microscopy, and Rock Eval® data for Cambrian Mount Cap Fm. outcrop samples from Dodo Canyon, Northwest Territories, Canada. Two out of three samples contain total organic carbon (TOC) contents of 0.3 to 0.5%, which consist mainly of pyrobitumen and other soluble bitumens. Percent reflectance (%RoR) was determined for low reflecting isotropic and fine-grained mosaic varieties, and optical microtextures were characterized. As well, VIS fluorescence of alginates, acritarch and crude oil inclusions was measured, specifically Lmax and Q. The data indicate that ~70 % (by volume) of total organic matter in one of the Mount Cap carbonate samples (0.46% TOC) is pyrobitumen, with fine to medium-grained mosaic anisotropic optical microtextures. The %Romax measured for the pyrobitumen is typical of those associated with very late oil to the gas zone of thermal maturity. Rare occurrences of primary 'source rock' bitumen derived directly from kerogen, indicates that the thermal maturity of the Mount Cap Fm. is ~1.1%Ro vitrinite equivalence. VIS fluorescence of orange fluorescing Prasinophyte alginite (Lmax: 680nm; Q: 1.9) is also consistent with a maturity level of ~1.1 to 1.3% Ro vitrinite equivalent. Blue fluorescing hydrocarbon fluid inclusions (Lmax: 445nm; Q: 0.10) in calcite cements indicate that the Mount Cap Fm. contains evidence from 45 to 50 ºAPI oils.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
