Avaliação dos efeitos do método Padovan® no desenvolvimento neuropsicomotor de crianças com microcefalia: série de casos

Abstract
Objetivo: Relatar o uso do Método Padovan® em crianças com microcefalia causada por zika vírus, atendidos na Clínica Escola de Fisioterapia da Estácio- FMJ. Metodologia: Trata-se de estudo retrospectivo, descritivo de abordagem quantitativa. Os pacientes utilizavam o Método Padovan® como forma de tratamento. Foram analisadas 9 crianças com diagnóstico de microcefalia por Zika vírus, sendo 4 (44,4%) do sexo feminino e 5 (55,6%) do sexo masculino. Todos receberam o Método Padovan ® duas vezes por semana. Os dados avaliados foram: Avaliações fisioterapêuticas, avaliação da Escala Motora Infantil de Alberta (AIMS), evoluções descritas pelos os terapeutas, dados como: idade, sexo, sintomas, presença de comorbidades e números de atendimentos. Para análise estatística foi utilizado o Teste t student. O estudo foi aprovado pelo comitê de ética em pesquisa. Resultados: O Método Padovan® foi benéfico para nossos pacientes diminuindo a disfagia, bronco aspirações, espasmos, ajudando no rolar, rastejar e sentar. Conclusão: Diante da boa evolução dos pacientes, vê-se a relação do método e o estímulo à neuroplasticidade, sendo essa, um importante fenômeno cerebral para adquirir funções perdidas ou nunca adquiridas. Mais estudos devem ser realizados para afirmar o Método Padovan como terapia de neuroreabilitação.
