Abstract
La détection des contingences (DC) est un aspect fondamental du traitement de l’information chez le nourrisson et est essentielle au décodage de son environnement. La présente étude examine les trajectoires de DC dans le cadre d’un devis longitudinal, ainsi que les variations dans cette compétence selon l’exposition au risque psychosocial. Cent trente dyades mère-enfant, comprenant 78 mères adolescentes définies comme étant à risque sur le plan psychosocial et 52 mères adultes définies comme étant à faible risque, sont recrutées au Québec. Ces enfants accomplissent à 6 et 10 mois la Tâche de détection des contingences avant un an et aux deux derniers temps de mesure la Tâche de détection des contingences à 15 et 18 mois. Les résultats suggèrent que la capacité de DC n’est pas stable à travers le temps. De plus, une trajectoire constante et une trajectoire linéaire émergent des résultats, mais aucun lien entre le niveau de risque psychosocial et les trajectoires d’apprentissage n’est révélé. La discussion propose des pistes d’explications pour interpréter ces résultats, touchant le rôle de la DC à travers le développement ainsi que l’influence de caractéristiques propres à l’enfant et à son environnement.
