A escola tem sido alvo de diferentes investigacoes, dentre elas, a participacao da familia na comunidade escolar. No entanto, esta participacao ainda e vista como estranha, apesar de prevista na legislacao. O artigo integra o projeto “Avaliacao da qualidade da educacao ofertada aos alunos Publico Alvo da Educacao Especial em escolas publicas da Comarca de Bauru” no Estado de Sao Paulo e objetivou analisar se a gestao escolar e democratica e inclusiva. A pesquisa foi realizada em cinco escolas publicas, com 683 pais participantes. Os dados foram coletados por meio de questionario, sendo analisadas quantitativamente 18 questoes sobre gestao, inclusao e bullying . Os resultados apontam que os pais tem uma visao positiva da escola, mas nao se sentem parte da comunidade escolar. Os pais concordam que os alunos com deficiencia sao aceitos e que, em relacao ao bullying, ha suporte escolar. Conclui-se que, apesar da visao positiva dos pais, as escolas ainda nao conseguiram implementar uma gestao democratica e participativa com o envolvimento das familias.
