Abstract
This paper identifies the acoustical requirements for multifunctional urban school gymnasia and discusses the lack o f acoustic guidelines in achieving this objective.The requirement o f compromise in determining such a criterion is also discussed in the light o f recent ANSI standards.An alternative practical criterion for acceptable reverberation levels is established.The supporting case studies, measurements, analysis and discussions are presented. s o m m a i r eCet article identifie les exigences acoustiques pour les gymnases d 'coles urbaines multifonctionnelles, et discute l'absence prsente de critres acoustiques qui seraient requis pour atteindre ces objectifs.Compte tenu de l 'avnement rcent de nouveaux standards ANSI, il est aussi discut de la ncessit d 'un compromis au cours de la dtermination de tels critres.Un critre pratique pour la dtermination d'un temps de rverbration acceptable est tabli.Les tudes de cas, prises de donnes, analyses et discussions pertinentes sont prsentes.
