cui insegnamento e apprendimento hanno luogo.Il volume si compone di tre capitoli.Il primo capitolo passa in rassegna le coordinate della politica linguistica ed educativa europea per la promozione del plurilinguismo.Tomassetti scorre le tappe normative che hanno facilitato la diffusione delle lingue in Europa, assieme ai documenti europei che hanno indicato le direzioni da seguire per l'insegnamento e l'apprendimento delle lingue, e a quelli relativi alla formazione degli insegnanti.Nel secondo capitolo Tomassetti considera la questione della verifica e della valutazione delle competenze glottodidattiche negli insegnanti partendo dai documenti europei per poi occuparsi delle certificazioni di maggiore importanza in Italia.
