Abstract

Objetivo: comprender las percepciones de los adolescentes escolares de sexo masculino sobre el cuidado de su salud. Métodos: estudio descriptivo, con abordaje cualitativo, realizado con 32 estudiantes de una escuela pública estadual del municipio de Recife-PE. Para la recolección de datos se empleó una entrevista semiestructurada, siendo las declaraciones descompuestas y organizadas mediante la técnica del Discurso del Sujeto Colectivo. Resultados: Surgieron cinco Ideas Centrales resultado de los DSC: Busca de los adolescentes por aclaraciones de dudas y cuestiones de salud, Actuación de la escuela en la estrategia de educación en salud, Percepción de los adolescentes en relación al concepto de salud, Comportamiento de los adolescentes en el cuidado a la salud, Busca por mejoras en las condicione de salud. Conclusión: Fue evidenciado que la participación de la familia, escuela y profesionales de salud, especialmente los de enfermería ejercen importante influencia en el proceso de formación del adolescente. En este sentido, es fundamental la implicación de estos actores para el fortalecimiento de acciones de promoción de la salud y autocuidado de los adolescentes.
