Abstract
La presente investigación asume como objetivo: Evaluar las potencialidades turísticas del paisaje natural protegido La Gran Piedra para el desarrollo de modalidades de Turismo Rural. Su realización se auxilió de métodos teóricos y técnicas de recopilación de información, como encuestas y cuestionarios con criterios de evaluación. Se utilizaron herramientas científicas como la Matriz Diferencial I y II para analizar la competencia, la Matriz de potencialidades para evaluar el potencial turístico y la Matriz DAFO para el análisis estratégico de la situación actual del área. Se emplearon además programas computacionales como el software de Decisión 1.0 para la validación de expertos y el SPSS en su versión 15.0 para el procesamiento de encuestas. La metodología aplicada demostró que la zona estudiada tiene altas potencialidades para el desarrollo del Turismo Rural, que este paisaje se encuentra como líder en la modalidad de Turismo de Naturaleza en la provincia. Se evidenció que el Paisaje Natural Protegido Gran Piedra tiene atractivos y comunidades aledañas que podrían incluirse en la gama de ofertas y ser comercializado de manera sostenible como parte de la Modalidad de Turismo Rural, lo que permitió proponer un grupo de estrategias y acciones con el fin de potenciar en un futuro el área, como posible producto de Turismo Rural.
