Abstract
Bu derlemede amac,Kanada’da akademik amacli ziyaret edilen iki farkli dogum birimine yonelik elde edilen bilgi ve izlenimleri paylasmaktir. Kanada dogum merkezi izlenimleri, Uluslararasi Ebelik Konfederasyonunun duzenledigi 31. Dunya Ebelik Kongresi kapsaminda gidilen ve 15-29 Haziran 2017 tarihleri arasinda yapilan bireysel ve akademik ziyaretlerle elde edilmistir. Dogum yapilan iki merkezin gozlenme firsati olmustur. Izlenimler ve ziyaret icin her iki kurumdan onay alinmistir. Bu merkezler; Toronto Dogum Merkezi ve McGill Universitesi Hastanesi Dogum Merkezidir. Toronto Dogum Merkezi: Bu m erkezde sadece ebeler calismaktadir. Ozellikle riski olmayan, ebeyle dogurmayi isteyen gebeler bu dogum merkezine basvurmaktadir. Merkezde Kanada’nin ilk yerli halki olan Aborjinlerin kulturunden esinlenerek “kulture duyarli, dogum surecine kadin/aileyi merkeze alan” bir ebelik bakim modeli uygulanmaktadir. Tek kisilik odalarda; genis bir yatak, banyo/tuvalet, su havuzu v.b. ve bebek kortu bulunmaktadir. Odalarda rahatlatici duygu uyandiran renkler kullanilmaktadir. Anne adayi, dogum eylemi basladiktan taburcu olana kadar ayni odada kalabilmektedir. Odalarda yerden sabit monteli askiliklar bulunmaktadir. Dogumda agriyla basetmede, hidroterapi sik kullanilmaktadir. Bu merkezde isteyen ailelere tutsu, muzik, dua gibi dogum soleni yapabilecegi olanak sunulmaktadir. Vajinal dogumdan 3-4 saat sonra anneler hastaneden taburcu edilmektedir. McGill Universitesi Hastanesi Dogum Merkezi : Bu merkez, Montreal’de McGilluniversitesi hastane binasinin icinde bulunan bir kliniktir. Dogum kliniginde ebeler calismayip, dogum hekimleriyle hemsireler calismaktadir. Hemsireler, dogum esnasinda hekime yardimci olmaktadir. Universite hastanesinin bu dogum biriminin iki ana unitesi ve bir laktasyon danismanligi odasi bulunmaktadir. Bunlardan biri dogum eylemi icin,digeri yuksek riskli gebeler ile dogum sonrasi anneler icindir. Klinikte uc tane obstetriktriyaj odasi bulunmaktadir. Yenidoganda risk gelismesi durumunda, annelerin kalabilecegi ozel bir oda bulunmaktadir. Dogum eyleminde kadinlara farkli seceneklerin sunulmasi acisindan, farkli bir kultur ve ulke olarak ulkemizdeki dogum hizmetlerini guclendirmede bu izlenimler onemlidir.
