Abstract
Le colostrum est essentiel pour l’immunité du chiot. L’objectif de cette étude est d’évaluer l’influence que peut avoir l’administration précoce d'une supplémentation orale en IgY sur la qualité du transfert passif et sur la croissance d’un chiot. Au sein d’un élevage canin, 90 chiots de race Labrador ont été suivi pendant 2 mois, avec prise de sang, suivi du poids et de la température rectale. La supplémentation orale précoce n’a aucune influence sur le transfert passif d’immunité et sur la croissance. Le sexe, la taille de la portée et le poids de naissance ont une influence sur la qualité du transfert passif d’immunité. Cette qualité du transfert passif d’immunité, les taux de croissance au cours des différentes périodes néo natales, le sexe ou encore la taille de la portée ont une influence sur la croissance du chiot. L’étude d’un possible transfert passif d’IgY dans le sang chez le chiot serait aussi pertinente.
