Abstract
Os eventos esportivos tem uma grande importancia para o fluxo turistico nas cidades sedes dos eventos esportivos, essa pesquisa busca alem de ressaltar a importancia do turismo de eventos esportivos sua organizacao e acao dos voluntarios para que o evento ocorra corretamente. Esse trabalho tem como objetivo geral compreender a relevancia do evento esportivo na cidade de Lac-Megantic na otica de uma equipe de maratona aquatica do Gremio Nautico Uniao e de uma organizadora e voluntaria do evento. O metodo utilizado nesta pesquisa foi um estudo de caso de natureza qualitativa de carater descritiva, com aplicacao de questionarios com a participacao de 8 atletas e um questionario com uma organizadora e voluntaria do evento. Os resultados obtidos demonstraram que ambos concordam que a participacao dos voluntarios e importante para que o evento ocorra de acordo com as necessidades dos atletas, entretanto, um ponto divergente foi que alguns atletas demonstraram um pequeno descontentamento com a forma que o evento e organizado.
