Resumo: Benzodiazepnicos (BDZs) so considerados contaminantes de preocupao emergente e tm sido frequentemente encontrados em ambientes aquticos. Devido possvel ecotoxicidade destes compostos, se faz necessrio avaliar sua presena e distribuio no ambiente aqutico. O presente trabalho traz uma introduo ao MALDI-TOF para a determinao qualitativa rpida de benzodiazepnicos em amostras de gua e sedimentos. A extrao dos BDZs da gua foi feita pelo mtdo QuEChERS (quick easy cheap effective rugged and safe) e uma extrao slido-lquida foi usada para amostras de sedimentos. Um procedimento de limpeza (cleanup) adaptado com ponteiras de 200 L e cinco camadas de discos de extrao slida (EmporeTM 2215 -C18 C18 (octadecyl) 47 mm (3M, London, On)) e a extrao slido-lquida foram eficientes e picos
