CARTA AO EDITOR O papel do ultrassom point-of-care e questões relacionadas à ventilac ¸ão unipulmonar em neonatos The role of point-of-care ultrasound and issues related to one-lung ventilation in neonates Cara Editora, Lemos com interesse o relato de caso publicado por Rodrigues et al. 1 descrevendo o uso de ventilac ¸ão monopulmonar em neonato submetido a lobectomia superior esquerda.Os autores merecem elogios pela conduta clínica adotada e, especificamente, pelo emprego do ultrassom à beira leito (POCUS, do inglês Point of Care Ultrasound) para confirmar o isolamento pulmonar.De fato, em adultos, o POCUS revelou maior precisão (95%) quando comparado à ausculta (62%) no diagnóstico diferencial entre a intubac ¸ão traqueal e brônquica.2 Gostaríamos aqui brevemente de complementar alguns sinais que caracterizam, e por assim dizer conferem a ''assinatura'' à imagem ultrassonográfica pulmonar, além de comentar alguns desafios que são associados à técnica descrita pelos autores.O ultrassom de pulmão se baseia principalmente em artefatos
