The top five things you learned from reading this book: Key role that values play in decision-making; Life is more than what I've become; Assessing potential is as necessary at age 60 as at age 35; Key role of doing exercises (e.g., listing triumphs) in benefiting from the book; Affirming our triumphs provides strength for challenging times. The authors take us through a six-step process, each leg representing an anchor, to build our own best life. Where have I been! looks at what makes you and considers the barnacles or obstacles which you have accumulated. These can slow you down as you journey through your life and career. Your personal biography is an essential exercise here. It leads to the assertion by the authors that pieces of your future are preserved in your past. Where am I at?' looks at your direction today. Do you have direction markers which make life multi-dimensional? These markers can come from many sources including awards, friends, and mentors. Where am I going! looks at what you want to do with your life. If you're running out of jazz, a useful exercise calls for exploring your multiple me's, visioning for career, family, adventure, and spiritual realms. In the last three steps, the authors focus on achievements and their foundations, as Tara continues assessing her life. …
