O estudo terá como objetivo investigar o efeito de diferentes tipos de polimento utilizados no ajuste oclusal pré - cimentação na superfície de zircônia através de ensaio de resistência à flexão de 3 pontos em uma máquina de teste universal. Em seguida, será realizada análise da fractografia através de Microscopia Eletrônica de Varredura (MEV) e análise da quantificação da transformação de fase por difração de raio X (EDX). Serão utilizados 60 barras de zircônia parcialmente estabilizada por ítria (Y-TZP) (Ceramill Zolid, Amann Girrbach, Austria) com a superfície interna jateada com partícula de 45?m de óxido de alumínio (Al2O3) uma pressão de 28 bar por 5 segundos a uma distância de 10 mm perpendicular à superfície As amostras serão divididas em 6 grupos, tendo os seguintes fatores em estudo: Sistema de polimento em três níveis, controle (sem tratamento superficial), ponta diamantada cilíndrica de granulação extra fina (2143 FF; KG Sorensen, Cotia/SP, Brasil) e borracha de polimentos exa-cerapol (Edenta, São Paulo/ SP, Brasil) e o envelhecimento termomecânico em dois níveis (presente e ausente).no qual as amostras envelhecidas serão submetidas a 200.000 ciclos mecânicos com carga de 80N à frequência de 2 Hz, associados com 1250 ciclos térmicos (temperatura variando entre 5ºC e 55ºC em câmaras de água durante 30 segundos em cada temperatura com um intervalo de 10 segundos) na máquina de ciclagem termomecânica MSFT (Elquip, São Carlos, SP, Brasil).
