Abstract
The research aims to analyze the economic impact of technological innovation in the payment of basic services in the Metropolitan District of Quito (DMQ), by conducting a descriptive exploratory study, which uses the questionnaire to obtain information as an instrument primary on the form of payment of drinking water, electricity, telephony, and the Internet by random sampling; allowing the statistical analysis in the SPSS program to estimate in dollars the level of family spending in the payment of basic services at the window that considers transportation for mobilization and waiting time, as well as it has been possible to estimate the level of saving of families that Make these payments online, with mobile applications or through direct debit of accounts or credit cards. The research presents its practical implications by demonstrating the need to stimulate the population the use of alternative means of payment of basic services that positively affect the economy of households as a result of the decrease in mobilization, waiting time, and transportation used in window payments; Likewise, it contributes to science by demonstrating the need for more complex studies that show innovation from an analysis of the environments where they are applied, characterizing their users.
