Abstract

Este trabajo tuvo como fin determinar cantidad de carbono asimilado en arboles de la especie Tectona grandis mediante el analisis densitometrico. La muestra consistio en cinco discos extraidos de cinco individuos de esta especie procedentes del Fundo La Genova (Chanchamayo). Estos discos fueron utilizados para hallar las areas pertenecientes a sus anillos y se prepararon muestras para realizar un ensayo de densitometria de rayos X. La biomasa de carbono fue hallada relacionando el area del anillo con los valores de densidad obtenidos. Como conclusion se determino la efectividad del metodo utilizado para la determinacion de la biomasa de carbono en los anillos de crecimiento para la especie Tectona grandis. A su vez, se pudo observar una diferencia significativa de carbono secuestrado entre los 5 arboles evaluados. Se encontraron menores concentraciones de carbono en los anillos pertenecientes a la fase juvenil.
