Abstract
La romancière canadienne Sharon Bala et la poétesse française Patricia Cottron-Daubigné explorent la condition des réfugiés à travers la prose dans The Boat People et la poésie dans Ceux du lointain. Ces écrivaines s’engagent à travers leur art et remettent en cause les politiques des états d’accueil tout en interpellant leur lectorat. Leurs œuvres littéraires retranscrivent des histoires de migration, des récits indicibles qui sont souvent oubliés, et inscrivent l’histoire enfouie dans un discours littéraire humaniste. Cet article montre comment l’humanisme de Bala et Cottron-Daubigné consiste précisément à donner une voix et un nom à ceux qui, dans leur détresse, semblent ne pas en avoir. Mais l’humanisme, comme le souligne Homi K. Bhabha, est également la position inconfortable du lecteur face au récit de l’indicible.
