Dans cet article, nous rappelons les nombreux dfis crs par le Web, notamment quant la multiplication des infox. Contrairement ce que l'on a pu croire, l'accs au Web n'est pas ncessairement vertueux et les jeunes gnrations (les digital natives) ne sont pas les expert(e)s que l'on imagine parfois. Il tait donc indispensable de rinventer la faon dont les rfrentiels de comptences abordent le numrique. L'UNESCO ou la Commission europenne ont pris cette voie, tout comme le Qubec, et ont dcid d'associer des comptences de haut niveau (ex. la pense critique, la culture de l'information) la comptence numrique, pour que celle-ci ne se limite pas des habilets instrumentales telles qu'allumer un ordinateur, ouvrir son fureteur et se rendre sur un moteur de recherche. La comptence numrique est en fait une ncessit socitale dont il faut prendre la mesure pour ne pas crer de nouvelles fractures. Quelques situations pdagogiques au postsecondaire permettent d'illustrer la faon dont la comptence numrique peut tre aborde dans diffrentes matires.
