Abstract
Un nouveau mtier : gestionnaire de cas Dfinition de gestion de cas et intrt dans l'accompagnement de la dmence La ges tion de cas constitue un champ professionnel nouveau, l'interface des secteurs sanitaires et sociaux. Il se dveloppe en France depuis 2008 sous l'impulsion du plan national Alzheimer [1]. Les gestionnaires de cas [2] -traduction du terme anglo-saxon case manager [3] -ont pour missions d'valuer les besoins d'une personne malade afin de planifier et de coordonner la mise en place des services rpondant ses besoins globaux de sant. Ils s'efforcent d'amliorer la qualit et l'efficience des soins [4]. Cette fonction est apparue aux tats-Unis dans les annes 1970 et a d'abord concern des travailleurs sociaux. Secondairement sont apparues des infirmires gestionnaires de cas . La gestion de cas est actuellement largement rpandue aux tats-Unis et au Canada, et se dveloppe en Europe. Il persiste un dbat autour du statut de la fonction de gestionnaire de cas : s'agit-il d'une simple volution des missions des professionnels sociaux o u de sant [5] ou d'un nouveau mtier [6] pour l'exercice duquel une formation spcifique est ncessaire ? Les case managers, parfois aussi appels care managers [3], ont en pratique des formations diverses et travaillent pour des organisations de sant publiques ou prives -des assurances en particulier -et parfois leur propre compte.
