Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Glioma is defined as a common brain tumor which causes severe disability or death. As many genes are reported to relate with glioma’s occurrence and development, their prognostic and therapeutic value still remains uncertain. This study aimed at investigating the association between STAT3/p-STAT3 and glioma prognosis. Nine studies (12 trials) scored ≥5 on the Newcastle-Ottawa scale were meta-analysed from the Medline, Embase, and Web of Science databases. We found that STAT3/p-STAT3 overexpression in glioma patients was associated with worse overall survival ( <a:math xmlns:a="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" id="M1"> <a:mtext>hazard</a:mtext> <a:mo> </a:mo> <a:mo> </a:mo> <a:mtext>ratio</a:mtext> <a:mo> </a:mo> <a:mo> </a:mo> <a:mfenced open="(" close=")"> <a:mrow> <a:mtext>HR</a:mtext> </a:mrow> </a:mfenced> <a:mo>=</a:mo> <a:mn>1.40</a:mn> </a:math> , <e:math xmlns:e="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" id="M2"> <e:mn>95</e:mn> <e:mi>%</e:mi> <e:mtext>confidence</e:mtext> <e:mo> </e:mo> <e:mo> </e:mo> <e:mtext>interval</e:mtext> <e:mo> </e:mo> <e:mo> </e:mo> <e:mfenced open="(" close=")"> <e:mrow> <e:mtext>CI</e:mtext> </e:mrow> </e:mfenced> <e:mo>=</e:mo> <e:mn>1.05</e:mn> <e:mo>~</e:mo> <e:mn>1.86</e:mn> </e:math> , <i:math xmlns:i="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" id="M3"> <i:mi>P</i:mi> <i:mo>=</i:mo> <i:mn>0.020</i:mn> </i:math> ), progression-free survival ( <k:math xmlns:k="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" id="M4"> <k:mtext>HR</k:mtext> <k:mo>=</k:mo> <k:mn>2.05</k:mn> </k:math> , <m:math xmlns:m="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" id="M5"> <m:mn>95</m:mn> <m:mi>%</m:mi> <m:mtext>CI</m:mtext> <m:mo>=</m:mo> <m:mn>1.63</m:mn> <m:mo>~</m:mo> <m:mn>2.58</m:mn> </m:math> , <o:math xmlns:o="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" id="M6"> <o:mi>P</o:mi> <o:mo><</o:mo> <o:mn>0.001</o:mn> </o:math> ), and better recurrence-free survival ( <q:math xmlns:q="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" id="M7"> <q:mtext>HR</q:mtext> <q:mo>=</q:mo> <q:mn>0.37</q:mn> </q:math> , <s:math xmlns:s="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" id="M8"> <s:mn>95</s:mn> <s:mi>%</s:mi> <s:mtext>CI</s:mtext> <s:mo>=</s:mo> <s:mn>0.15</s:mn> <s:mo>~</s:mo> <s:mn>0.95</s:mn> </s:math> , <u:math xmlns:u="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" id="M9"> <u:mi>P</u:mi> <u:mo><</u:mo> <u:mn>0.039</u:mn> </u:math> ). In conclusion, we suggested STAT3/p-STAT3 was associated with poor prognosis in patients with glioma, which indicated that STAT3/p-STAT3 might be a valuable prognostic biomarker and a promising therapeutic target for glioma.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
