En el tomate criollo Solanum lycopersicum var. Cerasiforme se ha observado y reportado resistencia natural a diversas enfermedades del suelo y nematodos, este genotipo habita en forma de mala hierba en regiones tropicales de México, y es aprovechado solo en la gastronomía de las regiones, dejando a un lado el potencial que puede tener al ser utilizado como portainjerto. El objetivo del experimento fue evaluar el comportamiento agronómico de Lycopersicum esculentum Mill sobre patrón de tomate criollo en diferentes métodos de injerto, el proyecto se dividió en dos etapas: la primera consistió en la realización de diferentes métodos de injertos la segunda etapa consistió en el comportamiento de las plantas injertadas en campo. Los resultados muestran que el uso de tomate criollo (Solanum lycopersicon var. Ceraciforme) utilizado como portainjerto presenta gran potencial de prendimiento y desarrollo de planta, de los métodos evaluados los mejores fueron el T1 Empalme y T2 Púa en porcentaje de sobrevivencia, altura y diámetro de tallo en plántula, y se obtuvieron los mejores rendimientos con frutos de talla Medium y Large, la incidencia de enfermedades fue nula durante la evaluación, concluyendo que el uso de tomate criollo como patrón brinda la posibilidad de obtener mejores rendimientos y alargar el periodo de cosecha debido a su abundante y fuerte sistema radicular.
