Abstract
Važene kolegyně, važeni kolegove, byl jsem poctěn redakcni radou casopisu „Rozhledy v chirurgii“ důvěrou být editorem cisla věnovaneho chirurgii stitne žlazy a přistitných tělisek. Přijal jsem tento ukol s pokorou a vědomim zodpovědnosti k cele spolecnosti chirurgů, kteři se věnuji endokrinochirurgii v oblasti krku a zejmena stitne žlazy. V letosnim roce uplyne 120 let od umrti jednoho z praotců ceske chirurgie, pana profesora Edurda Alberta.Profesor Eduard Albert byl prvnim chirurgem v Rakousku-Uhersku, který provedl operaci stitne žlazy na jeho uzemi. Po něm přichazely velke chirurgicke osobnosti navazujici na tuto generaci lekařů, kteři formovali moderni chirurgii stitne žlazy zasadnim způsobem.Při sestavovani cisla casopisu Rozhledy v chirurgii bylo jednim z cilů připomenout dobu, kdy se rodila moderni chirurgie stitne žlazy. Jeji principy byly stanoveny před vice než 180 lety. S chirurgii stitne žlazy jsou spojeny od jejiho vzniku i komplikace poraněni zvratných nervů a poraněni přistitných tělisek...
