Penelitian ini dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara selfefficacy dan prestasi akademik pada mahasiswa fakultas Kedokteran angkatan 2006 Universitas “X” di Bandung. Pemilihan sampel menggunakan metode purposive sampling dan sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 135 mahasiswa. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan penelitian korelasional. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah teori self-efficacy dari Bandura (2002). Self-efficacy merupakan keyakinan seseorang tentang kemampuan seseorang dalam mengatur dan melaksanakan sumber-sumber dari tindakan yang dibutuhkan untuk mengatur situasi-situasi yang prospektif. Teori yang mendukung prestasi akademik adalah faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi prestasi belajar yang dikemukakan oleh Winkel (1983). Teori masa perkembangan yang digunakan adalah masa remaja akhir dari John W. Santrock (2006). Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa kuesioner self-efficacy yang terdiri dari 56 item. Alat ukur ini merupakan alat ukur yang disusun oleh peneliti berdasarkan teori self-efficacy dari Bandura (2002). Berdasarkan uji validitas diperoleh hasil berkisar antara 0.31-0.78, sedangkan hasil realibilitas diperoleh 0.933. Sedangkan alat ukur yang digunakan untuk mengukur prestasi akademik adalah nilai IPK mahasiswa Kedokteran angkatan 2006 universitas “X” selama kuliah dua semester. Data yang diperoleh diolah menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman dengan program SPSS 15.0. Berdasarkan hasil uji statistik diperoleh koefisien korelasi (rs)= 0.486 yang berarti terdapat hubungan moderat antara self-efficacy dan prestasi akademik pada mahasiswa Kedokteran angkatan 2006. kesimpulan yang diperoleh adalah semakin tinggi derajat self-eficcacy mahasiswa semakin tinggi pula prestasi akademiknya, demikian juga sebaliknya. Peneliti mengajukan saran agar dilakukan penelitian mengenai pengaruh sumber-sumber self-efficacy dengan derajat self-efficacy pada mahasiswa Kedokteran angkatan 2006. Peneliti juga menyarankan dilakukan penelitian mengenai pengaruh kondisi fisik, suasana hati, suasana kelas, keterlibatan orangtua dan fasilitas belajar dengan proses belajar seseorang dalam pencapaian prestasi akademiknya.
