Le premier objectif de ce mémoire est d’expliquer la situation complexe de l’agriculture et des producteurs agricoles. Ainsi, d’un point de vue macroscopique, l’agriculture a énormément évolué durant les 70 dernières années, passant d’une agriculture vivrière familiale et locale à une agriculture internationale de libre marché fortement influencée par la volonté des citoyens. Au niveau plus individuel, la population agricole est très diversifiée. Elle est caractérisée majoritairement par des valeurs masculines traditionnelles, entrepreneuriales dans des exploitations familiales. Comprendre la culture agricole est indispensable pour proposer une intervention sociale adaptée. Bien qu’il ne soit pas possible d’évaluer l’évolution du bien-être au fil de ces années, on sait aujourd’hui que les producteurs vivent plus de mal-être que le reste de la population. Les risques psychosociaux liés au travail permettent d’expliquer en partie ce phénomène. Pour faire face, je propose une ébauche de théorie de programme fondée sur l’approche de facilitation de développement de théorie de programme de Chen. Je l’ai d’abord développée à partir de la théorie avant de l’améliorer grâce à des entrevues en ligne, individuelles et de groupes. Cet exercice de programmation est basé sur la théorie de conservation des ressources. Elle vise à améliorer la résilience des producteurs agricoles par des actions de promotion, de prévention et curatives. La recherche qualitative a également permis de faire émerger certains éléments caractéristiques d’une approche qui serait adaptée à la réalité des producteurs agricoles.
