Au Québec, la pénurie d’infirmières a occasionné une restructuration importante du milieu de la santé, attribuant ainsi davantage de tâches et de responsabilités aux infirmières auxiliaires. Ce contexte engendre une certaine pression sur le programme de formation professionnelle en Santé, assistance et soins infirmiers (SASI), qui doit aider les élèves à développer leur capacité à travailler de manière autonome et à faire preuve de jugement clinique. Alors que certaines études portent sur la réflexion dans l’action des infirmières, il n’existe aucune donnée en ce qui a trait aux infirmières auxiliaires. Cette étude avait pour objectif de développer et mettre à l’essai un outil pédagogique afin d’aider les élèves en SASI à réfléchir dans et sur l’action dans le cadre de leurs stages à l’hôpitaL Suivant la méthode de développement de matérielpédagogique (Paillé, 2007), un outil pédagogique pour les élèves et un guide pour les enseignants ont été développés. Ils ont tous deux été testés par un groupe de 5 stagiaires et un enseignant en contexte de stage; 8 élèves et 2 enseignants non-utilisateurs ont également validé l’outil Par le biais d’un questionnaire électronique et d’un groupe de discussion, les résultats indiquent que l’outil favorise le développement de la réflexion, mais que le manque de temps pendant le stage à l’hôpital continue d’être l’obstacle majeur à la réflexion.
