Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan siswa kelas vii smp yas bandung dalam berbicara menggunakantatakrama bahasa sunda dalam percakapan sehari-hari. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam berbicara menggunakantatakrama bahasasunda. metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen dengan menggunakan desain penelitian one-group pretest-posttest design. metode pembelajaran yang diujicoba dalam penelitian ini adalah metode role playing dalam pengajaran tatakrama bahasasunda pada siswa kelas vii. sumber data dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas viia smp yas bandung tahun ajaran 2013/2014. pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara unjuk kerja dengan menggunakan instrumen tes berupa tes unjuk kerja. dari hasil penelitian, sebelum menggunakan metode role playing siswa belum mampu berbicara menggunakantatakrama bahasa sunda dengan rata-rata nilai 58, 77 sedangkan sesudah menggunakan metode role playing siswa sudah mampu berbicara menggunakantatakrama bahasasunda dengan rata-rata nilai 79. terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil pretes dan postes berdasar hasil uji thitung (58,4) > ttabel (2,40835). berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, bisa disimpulkan bahwa metode role playing dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam berbicara menggunakantatakrama bahasasunda. kata kunci: métode role playing, tatakrama bahasa sunda \nAbstract \nBackground of this research is lack of student’s ability vii grade yas bandung junior high school on applying sundanese etiquette language in daily conversation. the purpose of this research is to increase the student’s ability on speaking using sundanese etiquette language. research method used is quasi experimental method with one-group pretest-posttest design. this research is experiment of role playing method on sundanese etiquette language teaching to student vii grade. data source is students viia grade yas bandung junior high school academic year 2013/2014. data roundup by showing activity with instrumen showing activity form. based on result of research, before using role playing method the students are not able on speaking using sundanese etiquette language with average of value is 58,77 but after using role playing method the students are able on speaking using sundanese etiquette language with average of value is 79. there is significant difference between pretest and posstest result based on the result of tvalue (58,4) > ttable (2,40835). based on the result of research, the conclusion is role playing method can increase student’s ability on speaking using sundanese etiquette language. keyword: role playingmethod, sundanese etiquette language
