O presente artigo aborda os processos de turistificação e patrimonialização do Círio de Nazaré em Belém, festividade patrimonializada oficialmente desde 2004, que se tornou, no decorrer dos seus mais de 220 anos, um dos principais atrativos turísticos do estado do Pará. Buscou-se identificar, nos referidos processos, sua relação com a criação de territorialidades por seus agentes. Como procedimentos metodológicos, utilizou-se o levantamento bibliográfico acerca da festividade e suas transformações, bem como informações obtidas em matérias jornalísticas e observadas em campo nos anos de 2018 e 2019. A partir da análise de alguns espaços públicos apropriados pelos agentes envolvidos na festividade, identificou-se características e efeitos da territorialidade abordados por Sack (1986), os quais indicam que as estratégias voltadas ao controle de área, relacionadas à turistificação do Círio, têm contribuído para a manutenção de hegemonias. Os agentes não hegemônicos, por sua vez, encontram na patrimonialização uma possibilidade de se manterem em seus territórios.Palavras-chave: Círio de Nazaré. Turistificação. Patrimonialização.
