Abstract
Çeşitli ombudsmanlık modellerinden birisi olan çocuk ombudsmanlığı,çocukların güvenliği ve refahından sorumlu olan ve onlar adına savunuculukgörevini yerine getiren bağımsız bir devlet otoritesidir. Çocuk ombudsmanlığıdünyada 1980’li yıllarda itibaren yaygınlaşmaya başlamış olup pek çok ülketarafından da benimsenmiştir. İlk olarak Norveç’te, ikinci olarak ise Kanada’daoluşturulmuştur.Bu çalışmada da Kanada Çocuk Ombudsmanlığı modelinin işlevlerinin ve bumodelin öne çıkan niteliklerinin ortaya çıkarılması amaçlanmaktadır. Bu amaçdoğrultusundaki bulgular, literatür taraması ve doküman analizi yöntemiyle eldeedilmiştir. Elde edilen bu bulgular ise içerik analizi tekniği ile betimlenmiştir.Çalışmanın sonucunda da Kanada Çocuk Ombudsmanlığının geniş organizasyonyapısı veayrıntılı inceleme çalışmaları ile başarılı faaliyetler yürüttüğü kanısınavarılmıştır.
