Abstract
Cet “entretien” a été mené à distance par Émilie Roffidal et Caroline Ruiz durant l’été 2020 à partir d’un document partagé. Ce support, structuré par une série de neuf questions prédéfinies, a permis l’interaction entre les différents “invités”. Il a pour objectif de préciser la question particulière de la monographie des sculpteurs, sa place et ses enjeux dans le champ de l’Histoire de l’art. Il se situe dans le prolongement de l’article publié par Marion Boudon-Machuel en 20051, qui faisait un état des lieux de vingt ans de recherches sur la sculpture française, ainsi que dans la continuité de l’entretien accordé par Jennifer Montagu en 2011 à la revue Perspective2. Ont été réunis ici plusieurs spécialistes de la sculpture de la période moderne, tant universitaires que conservateurs ou encore chercheurs indépendants. L’enjeu est de questionner la place de la sculpture moderne en Histoire de l’art (ainsi que celle de ses créateurs et créatrices), de partager des retours d’expériences monographiques (enjeux et méthodes), ainsi que de dessiner de nouvelles perspectives de recherches.
