Abstract
Henri Le Saux est l’un des grands mystiques chrétiens du xxe siècle et un pionnier du dialogue avec l’hindouisme. Pour le Bénédictin breton, co-fondateur du premier ashram catholique, la grâce de l’Inde réside dans son message d’intériorité, du Dedans. Pas d’éveil à Dieu sans éveil à soi. Nous proposons de saisir la manière dont il comprend le psychisme, ainsi que l’apport de l’Inde dont elle a bénéficié. Pour ce faire, nous adoptons un développement en trois temps qui renseigne sur l’origine de sa compréhension du psychisme, son élaboration et l’articulation des principaux éléments qui la constitue. Premièrement, cette compréhension repose sur la relation du moine au « Dieu vivant » en référence à l’expérience de la non-dualité (advaita) ; deuxièmement, elle se déploie dans un processus de connaissance de soi et par la mise au défi d’une certaine compréhension de soi ; troisièmement, elle s’articule selon une approche trinitaire de l’âme entre conscience et inconscience. Nous concluons avec quelques caractéristiques de l’image de l’Inde qui se dégagent de cette approche de la psyché humaine.
