Penelitian ini membahas proyek perubahan berupa kegiatan pendampingan yang dilakukan dalam rangka lebih meningkatkan kesiapan UKM potensial untuk menjadi calon peserta Export Coaching Program pada Balai Besar Pendidikan dan Pelatihan Ekspor Indonesia (PPEI)- Kementerian Perdagangan. Model yang digunakan merupakan Tahap Pertama (stage I) dari 3 Tahap kegiatan Export Coaching Program yang dilakukan sejak 2010 oleh PPEI bersama Trade Fascilitation Office,Canada. Pada tahap pertama itu, yang dijalani peserta adalah Identifikasi Potensi Internal Perusahaan dan Identifikasi Potensi Pasar Negara Tujuan Ekspor. Dari Identifikasi Potensi Internal perusahaan, akan diketahui kekuatan dan kelemahan perusahaan untuk bisa ekspor, sedangkan dari Identifikasi Potensi Pasar akan diketahui peluang dan tantangan dalam merealisasi rencana ekspor. Identifikasi kedua faktor tersebut, dilanjutkan dengan analisis SWOT, penyusunan action plan dan Business Plan. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendampingan sekaligus penelitian yang diterapkan melalui rangkaian kegiatan perkonsultansian, observasi, bimbingan langsung dan bimbingan jarak jauh. Subjek penelitian adalah 7 orang pemilik perusahaan yang berlokasi di kota Depok, Jawa Barat. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pencatatan hasil pengamatan, wawancara, konsultansi dan pemberian arahan. Analisisnya menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diketahui antara lain bahwa: a) tingkat kehadiran dan partisipasi peserta rata-rata mencapai 91,75%; b)tingkat kepuasan peserta dalam mengikuti kegiatan ini: 5 orang (71,43%) menyatakan puas dan 2 orang (28.57%) menyatakan sangat puas; c) tentang kesiapan untuk mengikuti export coaching program di PPEI: 4 orang (57,13%) mengatakan siap, 3 orang (42,47%) mengatakan netral, d) atas pertanyaan apakah mereka siap jika saat ini mendapatkan buyer: 3 orang (42,86%) menyatakan siap, 3 orang (42,86%) menyatakan tidak siap dan 1 orang (14,29%) menyatakan netral.
