Les Maisons de Naissance sont des structures autonomes, gerees uniquement par des sages-femmes, qui peuvent y travailler selon l'essence meme de leur art : le suivi des femmes tout au long du processus de la maternite lorsque celle-ci s'avere physiologique. Ces structures sont aujourd'hui un lieu que peuvent choisir les couples pour la naissance de leurs enfants. Elles representent une alternative au suivi classique en centre hospitalier, considere comme trop medicalise et technicise par certains usagers en attente d'une approche plus humaine et respectueuse, retrouvee dans le cadre de l?accompagnement global propose par les sages-femmes de Maisons de Naissance. Dans ce memoire nous nous sommes interessee aux facteurs impliques dans la mise en place de ces structures dans les pays francophones que sont le Quebec, la Belgique, et la Suisse tant sur le plan general par nos recherches, que local par des entretiens menes aupres de sages-femmes de Maisons de Naissance. Ceci dans le but de pouvoir comparer les situations etrangeres au contexte francais et d'apporter quelques perspectives concernant ces structures encore attendues en France et recemment promues a une experimentation debutant en 2011.
