El objetivo de esta investigación fue analizar la germinación de esporas de B. thuringiensis de diverso origen de aislamiento en un suelo agrícola estéril enriquecido con diferentes concentraciones de glucosa como fuente de carbono (C), con NH4NO3 (nitrato de amonio) como fuente de N (nitrógeno) y extracto de levadura como factor de crecimiento.Para lo cual la germinación de las esporas de Bt, se determinó por pasteurización de suelo por el método de cuenta viable en agar nutritivo.Los resultados indican que esporas de Bt-1, Bt-2 aisladas del suelo, germinaron más que las esporas de la cepa de referencia Bt HD-1 que mostro la mayor exigencia nutricional, probablemente porque se aisló de un insecto-plaga.En contraste con las cepas Bt-1 y Bt-2 recuperadas de un suelo agrícola, respondieron positivamente a la materia orgánica de suelo, asi como al enriquecimiento con glucosa.Lo anterior indica que, el origen de aislamiento de cada cepa de Bt, condiciona la dependencia nutricional para germinación de las esporas de Bt en el suelo y el posible éxito en la efectividad del complejo crista-espora en el control biológico de insectos plaga agrícolas.
