Abstract
The advantages and risks of the technology for the blast furnace heat with the use of the pulverized coal have been considered. It has been shown that the technology for the blast furnace heat with the use of the pulverized coal can be considered as the energy-saving one. The technology makes it possible to decrease the specific consumption of the total fuel including the expensive coke, to improve the productivity of the blast furnaces, to promote the indirect iron reduction development enhancing, and to limit the development of the direct difficult-to-reduce element reduction. However, the efficiency of the utilization of the pulverized coal is significantly dependent on the charge material and pulverized coal quality, the optimization of the combined blast parameters to assure the pulverized coal combustion completeness within the combustion zone. The indicator for monitoring the completeness of the carbon combustion has been proposed.
