Abstract
Geh.-Rat Prof. Dr. med. Wilhelm Uhthoff, geb. Klein Warin/Mecklenburg 31.7.1853, gest. Breslau/Schlesien 21.3.1926, Ordinarius für Augenheilkunde in Breslau 1896 – 1923, war mit seinem Schüler Prof. Dr. Theodor Axenfeld von 1900 bis 1923 Herausgeber der „Klinischen Monatsblätter für Augenheilkunde“. Es darf deshalb auch als ein Glücksfall für die „Klinischen Monatsblätter für Augenheilkunde“ bezeichnet werden, dass 2018 der Großneffe, Prof. em. Dr. med. Hans Klaus Uhthoff, Ottawa, den unter abenteuerlichen Umständen aus der Festung Breslau 1945 geretteten persönlichen, z. T. handschriftlichen Nachlass seines berühmten Großonkels der DOG zur Publikation überlassen hat. Die Herausgabe dieser Dokumente wurde nach Sichtung seitens der DOG dem in Breslau geborenen ehemaligen Direktor der Univ.-Augenklinik Homburg/Saar, Herrn Prof. em. Dr. med. Klaus W.
