Fragilidade no idoso: possibilidades de rastreio na Atenção Primária

Abstract
Introducao: O envelhecimento e considerado como processo sequencial, individual, acumulativo, irreversivel, de deterioracao de um organismo, que em algumas situacoes pode trazer consigo uma condicao conhecida como fragilidade. Ha varios instrumentos para rastreio rapido para identificar a fragilidade em idosos, como o Indice de Vulnerabilidade Clinico Funcional 20 (IVCF-20) e a Edmonton Frail Scale (EFS). Objetivo: comparar dois instrumentos de rastreio rapido de fragilidade no idoso, na atencao primaria de saude. Metodo: trata-se de um estudo de tipo transversal com abordagem quantitativa, realizado na atencao primaria de saude da regiao Centro Sul de Belo Horizonte/Minas Gerais, Brasil, com amostragem aleatoria simples. A condicao de fragilidade foi verificada atraves de analise estatistica com testes apropriados para variaveis quantitativas e qualitativas. Resultados: Participaram 396 idosos, com media de 71,8 anos e 65,40% era do sexo feminino. Houve associacao significativa (p=0,000) entre as condicoes de fragilidade identificada na EFS e no IVCF-20, a media final do IVCF-20 foi de 8,22 e da EFS foi de 4,56. Discussao: Este estudo demostrou que a prevalencia da fragilidade obteve concordância substancial entre os instrumentos IVCF-20 e EFS. O IVCF-20 e um instrumento que possui varios dominios importantes para a avaliacao da fragilidade no idoso e, por ser de facil e rapida aplicacao e fundamental para a atencao primaria. Conclusao: O IVCF-20 mostrou ser um instrumento valido para rastrear a sindrome de fragilidade na atencao primaria, podendo contribuir para a identificacao precoce dos idosos mais vulneraveis a fragilizacao.
