L'Initiative francophone pour la formation a distance des maitres (IFADEM) est co-pilotee par l'Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) et l'Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF). Dans le defi d une Education de base de qualite pour tous, l'Initiative s'attache, en collaboration etroite avec le ministere en charge de l'Education de chaque pays, a ameliorer les competences des instituteurs en poste, en pedagogie et dans l'enseignement de disciplines linguistiques et non linguistiques, au sein d'un dispositif innovant utilisant les technologies de l'information et de la communication pour l'education (TICE). Reconnu officiellement comme une action de formation continue par les onze pays actuellement engages, le dispositif s'appuie sur un programme de formation hybride, concu sur mesure par des experts nationaux, internationaux, chercheurs universitaires ou responsables educatifs. L'objectif de cette publication est resolument tourne vers une mise en perspective scientifique des reflexions conduites durant la mise en oeuvre de l'Initiative, les resultats, les pistes d evolution. Les auteurs, tous impliques dans ces actions de mise en oeuvre, interrogent et rendent compte de leurs experiences et travaux de recherche a travers trois grands volets: les questions linguistiques et didactiques, les modalites d'accompagnement et les approches technologiques. Ces thematiques, et les interrogations qui en decoulent, temoignent de la diversite culturelle et scientifique qui les initie et les soutient, au coeur des enjeux de mutation rapide de la formation initiale et continue des enseignants.
