Territoriale en broedende Visarenden Pandion haliaetus in Nederland in 2014-19
Bibliographic record
Abstract
In 2014-19 Ospreys Pandion halieetus built nests at nine different locations in the Biesbosch area, southwestern Netherlands. Breeding commenced in 2016, and this pair was successful in all years in 2016-19, raising a total of eight young in three nests. A second pair occupied a cluster of nests in several electricity pylons a few km farther south, with successful broods in 2017 and 2019, raising a total of 4 fledglings. A third pair settled in a territory in the Biesbosch area in summer 2019, and built two nests. In 2018 and 2019, territorial Ospreys were also present in the Maasplassen area in Limburg, southeastern Netherlands. A small nest was built in 2018, and in 2019 an artificial nest was provided and occupied though breeding has not yet commenced. Ring readings revealed that (potential) breeding birds originated from eastern Germany and Rutland, UK, showing natal dispersal of >400 km for males. Dutch Ospreys have to cope with territorial White-tailed Eagles Haliaeetus albicilla and Peregrines Falco peregrinus, apparently impacting nest site choice. In Limburg, Canadian Geese Branta canadensis claimed the artificial nest until the beginning of May 2019. Human disturbance is cause for concern.
Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
