Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

The article considers the cultural and historical situation in the North-West of Eastern Europe in the 5-8 centuries as a period of active interaction between the two cultural worlds. The first world is represented by the coastal sites of the Eastern Baltic, the other by the forest culture sites. Early cities of Ladoga, Pskov and Izborsk appear in the third quarter of the 1 millennium in the direct cultural contact zone as important points in the networks of exchange not only of goods and raw materials, but also of technology and information. The initial town formation in the North-West of Eastern Europe is part of the overall process of urban development and the Baltic communication system formation in the early Middle ages.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
