Uso não orientado de medicamentos entre usuários de uma clínica universitária de fisioterapia do noroeste do Rio Grande do Sul

A prática da automedicação é bastante comum não só no Brasil, mas sim a nível mundial. Esse hábito está associado principalmente à facilidade de acesso aos medicamentos. Desse modo o presente estudo teve por objetivo avaliar a prática da automedicação entre pacientes de uma clínica fisioterápica universitária do Noroeste do Rio Grande do Sul. Foi realizado um estudo observacional transversal descritivo com a aplicação de um questionário estruturado com perguntas abertas e fechadas, o qual foi aplicado à uma população de 27 indivíduos durante o mês de novembro de 2019. Observou-se que 81,5% dos participantes já praticaram a automedicação, sendo os analgésicos/antitérmico, anti-inflamatórios, xaropes pra tosse e antigripais, as classes medicamentosas mais utilizadas. Foi analisado também o uso atual de medicamentos e 70,4% dos pacientes afirmaram estar fazendo uso atualmente, sendo que 78,9% por indicação médica e 21,1% por automedicação. Embora o público busque pelo atendimento médico, constata-se que automedicação foi prevalente entre o público estudado, e pôde ser observado que boa parte não teve um acompanhamento profissional adequado. Desta forma, fica evidente a importância de ações de atenção farmacêutica e o quanto ela pode contribuir para minimizar os possíveis impactos negativos decorrentes do uso não orientado de medicamentos.
