Le prsent ouvrage semble tre destin la lecture des anglicistes -le moyen anglais tant l'unique langue cite sans traductions en anglais moderne -et, en second lieu, des spcialistes du droit canon tel qu'il se prsentait aux XIII e et XIV e sicles, poque de la scolastique. Sans appartenir ces groupes de spcialistes je peux affirmer que la richesse d'information et la finesse du raisonnement de l'auteur vont sans aucun doute inviter des lecteurs aussi d'en dehors de ce public cible.
