Nos retraitésClaude Bonnelly Vous avez eu une longue et riche carrière.Pouvez-vous en rappeler les moments marquants ?Quelles sont les réalisations dont vous êtes le plus fier ?Avez-vous des regrets ?M A CARRIÈRE DANS LE MONDE de la documentation a commencé en 1968.Je terminais alors des études de licence à la Faculté de philosophie de l'Université Laval.Le conseiller à la documentation en philosophie de la Bibliothèque, Gilles Paradis, qui m'avait rendu d'excellents services tout au long de mon parcours d'étudiant, s'apprêtait à prendre un congé d'études.Le doyen de la Faculté et le directeur du Service des bibliothèques, sans doute conseillés par lui, m'ont offert de le remplacer pour une période de deux ans.Ce fut une expérience extraordinaire au cours de laquelle j'ai développé une véritable passion pour la profession.À l'issue de ces deux années, je me suis donc engagé dans des études de maîtrise en bibliothéconomie à l'Université de Montréal.Et je suis revenu à l'emploi du Service des bibliothèques de l'Université Laval, auquel je suis resté fidèle pendant toute ma carrière.J'y ai occupé d'abord des fonctions diverses qui m'ont permis de faire un tour d'horizon de l'ensemble des services : stage en catalogage et classification, référence à la bibliothèque des sciences humaines et sociales, puis à la bibliothèque de sciences et médecine.Je me suis toutefois très vite intéressé à la gestion ; en 1975, je devenais chef de la section de référence de la bibliothèque des sciences humaines et sociales, en 1978 directeur adjoint du Service des bibliothèques et en 1988 directeur du Service jusqu'à ma retraite en 2006.4. .
