L'interaction entre les gouvernements canadiens, australiens, des tats-Unis et du Royaume-Uni au cours de la guerre froide en Asie a t le plus souvent caractrise par un dsaccord sur les objectifs et la politique des tats-Unis. Tel n'tait pas le cas, cependant, avec l'exprience oprationnelle des marines de ces pays. En effet, les liens tisss entre les chefs des marines et des commandants de combat pendant les guerres de Core et du Vitnam ainsi que l'effort pour ramener la stabilit en Extrme-Orient, ont eu un impact positif sur la solidarit allie et sur les mesures de scurit collectives la fin du 20me et au 21me sicles. Ce document traite de la nature de la relation oprationnelle entre les quatre marines dans la guerre de Core; des actions navales amricaines, britanniques et australiennes dans la gestion des conflits en Asie du Sud-Est au cours des annes 50 et 60; l'exprience sous feu de la Marine royale australienne et la Marine amricaine; et l'interaction vers la fin de la guerre froide pour faire face la la prsence et la monte en puissance de la marine sovitique dans les eaux asiatiques.
