Abstract
Eighty-six of the 90 submitted Christmas Bird Counts also included Christmas Mammal Counts. Except for 2006, when 85 counts were conducted, this is the fewest since 1996 when 82 were done. The total number of mammals seen or heard (3,563), and total number of species recorded (35) were about normal for the last 10 years. Indian Head had the most species seen or heard with 13; Togo was the runnerup with 10.
